Housing, Youth & Family Programs

Joy-Southfield volunteer housing and gardening activities in the neighborhood have involved more than 250 individuals and 22 churches. Numerous houses have been repaired and over 30 abandon properties have been cleaned up and mowed. Community gardens now exist instead of weeds. Fresh, healthy, produce is now available at the farmer's market every Tuesday. These photos show a sample of many of these activities. The photos on the left involve home repair and clean up projects. The photos on the right show developing community gardens, farmer's market and youth project activities. Golf Benefit a Success!

Joy-Southfield activities include recreation also! The first Annual Juanita Reaves Free Clinic Golf Benefit in June was a resounding success enjoyed by 70 golfers. Take a look at pictures here! The second Annual Juanita Reaves Free Clinic Golf Benefit will be June 24, 2011 - mark your calendars now!
